I thought you had a 3 day window to get your car inspected if you get a ticket for expired inspection. I am in state of NY?

There is no three-day window. I'm also in NY. Your sticker expires on the last day of the month it was previously inspected.

Inspection was in May 2011? It expired May 31, 2012.

This is a common "old wives" tale - the 3 day window - but it is not true.

If you go to court and show that you have gotten the car inspected, the judge may reduce or eliminate your fine.

There is no three day "window" But as noted often the judge will reduce the fine or even dismiss it, if you show them it is done when you go to court.

In my area if you are beyond the inspection date and pass with no repairs the ticket is reduced to parking.

If repairs are required it stands as uninspected.

This is a Town Court, by the way.
