I'm trying to reply to speedball 1, Tom. Every time I try to respond and click 'submit' I can't get any further. I asked about the sewer smell from double sink, only one side under lovelockfox. Now will submit under jacmarbeebe and hope Tom will get this. I did what Tom said, take off the AAV, plug pipe, pour lots of water down. Still smells. Now what?

I remember! I asked you to remove the AAV and seal off the opening with wet rags, Now drain a tub of water. Do you still get the smell? Let me know, Tom

I have a big tub so only put in about 5 inches and let it drain. At first I could smell the sewer. Opened up the vanity cabinet doors under the problem drain and air out the smell. Been over an hour now and can't smell anything. Sure do hope this is gone but there have been times when the smell seemed gone to only return and, I had not even used the bathroom.

Do I open the pipe now and put that AAV back on? Thanks for your help in getting me this far! M

Before you install the AAV try blowing through it. Hard at first and then more gently. There should be no air flow. If there is then replace the AAV. Good luck, Tom

I blew through it then used the more powerful hair dryer and air doesn't seem to be coming out. Replaced the AAV yesterday at 5 p.m. Thought I'd give it several hours before replying.

So far, NO smell! After over 2 weeks of dealing with horrid sickening smell, I hope it is gone for good!
