My 40w small globe in the canopy over my stove is blowing ever since I replaced the original - are there special types?

I assume your using some sort of "G" lamp. Does it need to be decorative? You may try to locate a 130 volt version of the lamp. If decorative is not an issue, try an "appliance" lamp.

Will try an appliance as it doesn't need to be decorative.
