Ip r have a jet pump that I use to pump water out of river for watering flowers. Every time I turn the pump on I have to bleed air out of pump.
Does the flow diminish and get less or stop when you water for a long time? Could you be drawing the water table down until the pump sucks air? Back to you, Tom
SQ, do you mean you are having to reprime the pump? If so, then check your footvalve in the river to see if it is leaking. It should hold the pump and pipe full of water for weeks at a time so that when you turn the pump back on, it pumps without being primed again.
I have to open the primer to let the air out. After I do this it will pump forever. I'm using a flex plastic hose to pump out of the river. Thanks
Sounds like a leaking foot valve. Water pulls air through the sprinklers and drains back into the river. May have dirt in it.
Check that footvalve. Or, you could put a checkvalve a few feet down between the pump and the footvalve.
I have a check valve, but don't have a foot valve
CV is probably leaking. Put on a footvalve, something like this.
Amazon.com: Flotec TC2501-P2 Well Pump Foot Valve: Home Improvement
Thanks. I'll try that.
I put in the foot valve. Works great. Thanks.
Victory!
