    Shower drain leaking
I have a standing shower in the basement that is leaking water from the drain. The drain itself is loose and I cannot tighten it as there is no compression nut to tighten the drain. There is a black 2inch gasket that snug fit the actual black drain pipe. Once I install the gasket around the drain pipe then its difficult to move the white collar of the drain to tight though its not getting tight anyway. I am wondering if the nut that holds the shower drain from the bottom of the Pan is loose. I put the silicone around it and it did stop the water from leaking but I'm afraid this silicone will not last very long.

Last night I stumbled upon Wingtite, that I see is the solution of my problem as I cannot rip the whole shower to tighten the nut.

Any idea if I am going to right direction?
