    Misdemeanor embezzlement cop?
    Ok so all most a year ago I was convected of misdemeanor embezzlement and had do do 43 days (but opted for work party) and 3 years of informal probation (and can I get a shortened term?)i want to still know if I can become a cop I want to and I also want to know if I want to apply for a job anywhere else do I have to admit to the misdemeanor embezzlement after the 3 years in CA and how hard is it to get it expunged?I have all my restitution paid But I was 19 I am now 20 it was stupid mistake and I felt bad and I perfect citizen other than that a religious man and want to serve my mission ( Two years crazy crazy) but I know we all make mistakes but I just want to get this behind me and have a good job.

    If your application asked have you ever been convicted, then you have to report it, criminal records stay on record forever unless taken off.

    Also even if explunged it is never explunged from the police check they do.

    As for as having it explunged maybe in 5 to 8 more years, most courts want to see 8 to 10 years of no problems, work history and perhaps more education.

    As for as being a police officer, yes , you won't get on to the largest highest paying departments, they get about 100 applications for any one opening. So any problem can keep you out of them.

    But there are 100's of smaller departments, with lower pay and less benefits.

    Police officers are allowed to have some criminal record depending on the department, but a lot of it is that since there are so many people wanting the job, the department getws to pick who they take
