If I sign my son over to his mothers husband with her concent do I have to go to court?
ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.
The court MAY require that you appear to affirm that you are agreeable to the adoption. It may let you appear by telephone or it may just accept a signed and notarization declaration. It will be up to the local court.
If I didn't no about a child for 7years and now the women I had a 1nite stand with wants her husband to adopt my so called son will I have to back pay child support all those years?
First, please don't start multiple threads over the same issue. I've merged your threads for you.
Whether you have to pay back support has nothing to do with the adoption. It has to do with whether the mother ever filed for support from you. It has to do with the laws where the child lives as to whether they allow retroactive support.
Any future support obligation will end, but we need more info to know if you will be responsible for back support.
She's Neva been in contact or asked for anything in 7yrs other than last week for me to sign this boy over I don't know we're I stand I want to sign this boy over to someone he nowz as dad but I don't know the procega I'm guna have to go through! And if I sign am I guna bebt for ahoy I didn't no about?
If what she wants is for the partner to adopt, then get an agreement that she will not ask for back support and then sign. Her lawyer should prepare all the paperwork, You should not have to do anything except go to court if required.
