It feels as if me an my girlfriend have lost what we had and it's the third year of our relationship. I went out of town for a week and came back to news that she was hanging out with an ex that I thought was out of the pic. I feel that my feelings are hurt because I love her but knew our relationship was falling apart. Now I'm waiting on her 6 y.o. nephew to leave our place to have "THE TALK" with her because I don't want him in the middle. I feel that she has left a situation that we both knew needed work by trying to hide the fact she's talking to her ex again. How can I tell her that I love her but we aren't working and its hard to try when you feel the other person has left the relationship and that I know about her ex? Will the anxiety end? How do you handle a break up when you have been living together?

Like any other break up, separate, go completely no contact and begin forgetting and moving on. If you're both dependent on one another to live on your own, maybe calling a relative or close friend could be in order as well. Would hate to see anyone on the street because of a break up.
