Was driving today and my Civ just abruptly shut down. No bad noises or anything, just a shut down. It will not turn over, it just cranks and doesn't turn. AAA guy said there was no spark so it must be a distributor problem. From reading some posts it seems I should keep the distributor and replace the ICM and coil. Is this accurate or should I replace the distributor as a whole? Or if there is anything else I should do?

First, try replacing the ICM and coil. If the problems persists, install your new ICM and coil in a genuine Honda distributor housing--all others are pretty much junk. Make sure, however, that the timing belt didn't break.

Great, thanks a lot! I currently have a genuine Honda distributor housing unit so hopefully the timing belt didn't break and I can just replace the ICM and Coil. I am trying to sell this car and this happened on a routine drive. If the timing belt broke would you suggest I even replace it before selling it? I would replace the ICM and coil so I can get a little bit more $$ out of the sale but not sure if timing belt would be worth replacing.

Remove the oil filler cap, have someone crank the starter motor, and look inside and see if the camshaft rotates. If it doesn't, the timing belt likely broke and the pistons probably collided with the valves, resulting in valve, piston, and connecting rod damage.
