    Summons
I owe a credit company some money and was not a ble to pay because of my financial status... Had an accident and fell behind on my payments, now they are trying to sue me. A summons was put under my door when I came home the other day... Is this the appropriate serving? Can I dismiss this? If so, what are the steps? Or should I go to court on a date that's on the summons?

    Please help, thanks.

You better show up at the court date... you were served... and no they don't have to hand it to you like in the movies.

Blow it off they win a default judgement... then get a writ of garnishment and take it from your accounts... and any future paychecks.

You were served, so why do you think you could or should get out of this ? Do you owe them the money ? So they get a judgement, and you have your bank accounts garnished or your pay at work ( if working) garnished, that is how it works.
