My 96 ford rangers transmission lever on the steering column has been very loose lately and now I'm having a difficult time getting it into PARK. I usually have to park on a slight incline so when I shift up to PARK I roll back about a foot and then it clicks into the gear. I know my transmission is old but I'm hoping that this is a lever/column issue. Anyone know if its an easy fix? Do I have to remove the steering wheel?
