Best way to file for divorce
I have been separated from my husband for 28 years, he went back to upstate New York and I resided in upper Michigan for 18 years but have recently moved back to California. I want to get divorced since we have no community property or minor children but have never had a lot of money to do it. What is the best solution to my situation?

If he is agreeable, this should not be difficult. There have been a lot of changes in divorce law in the last 25 years. A few hundred bucks can get you do it yourself kit that should work in your situation.

35 years ago I used the divorce kit in Toronto Ontario for $l50. Non disputed with a three year separation already gone and done. I didn't think this was an option now, so I didn't mention it.

Almost all US states now have no fault divorce laws. As long as the parties are agreeable with no children and no assets, its just a matter of signing some papers and submitting them to a court.
