My br ended up moving out and leaving me with the house. So like a month later the land lord came and informed me that now after. 7 months of not having to pay rent and spending all my money on drywall and. Electric wires. Stuff to improve the living standers. In my home. So I tell the landlord and show him all the stuff. That was still wrong in my home. And he still hasn't. Provided. Any materials. To do any of the home repairs. So could I claim squatters. Rights

There is no such thing as squatters rights. Where, by the way, are you? There was never a rental agreement, verbal or written? I don't believe that.

So - you made repairs (it would appear without the landlord's knowledge) instead of paying rent. You are aware that you can't do electrical work unless you're an electrician, right? You may have made a bad situation worse because of the required permits and inspection.

He doesn't have to provide materials if he doesn't want "improvements" made. He apparently simply wants you out because you haven't paid rent.

I moved into a house with my boyfriend may 17 2011 and there were a lot of repairs to be done. And so I bought drywall mud etc. Etc. And I planted flowers. We never had a rental agreement from the actual landlord. About rent or anything well the boyfriend. Ended up moving the middle of November 2011. A month later the landlord. Demanded. That I pay. Rent. After being there for so long. And so then I showed him a lot of the problems to be fixed. And he has still not put forth effort to do any repairs so I've been maintaining. This property. For a year now what can I do about the situation

OK so I live in Pasco county. FL and there is a such thing as squatters right maybe you should. Go to a law library. With FL statute. Code complainces. Hun. It's there and you don't have to believe anything I say idc. But its true and no there wasn't an agreement. On either of the home that is on the property. If u don't know anything about the situation. Then maybe you should mind your own business

I don't understand, who did you make an agreement with, a old tenant, a management company, or did you just move into a empty house with no agreement and without asking anyone ?

Next what type of repairs were done, Just painting and a little dry wall, did you ask the landlord in writing to fix any of this before.

The other issue is, that repairs like hot water or water pipes or heat or air, are things needed to make it liveable.

So if you and boyfriend have lived there you owe the owner rent. So you pay it, Painting and doing clean up esp if not agreed to with the owner can not be taken off or considered rent.
Esp things like flowers and even painting is borderline.

Sorry no there is no such thing as squatters rights, that is a outdated myth from the 1800's.
So I have no idea what you read, but it is not current Fl law. In fact Florida is the worst state in the US for renters, the laws are much more pro-owner.

Next you can't just do repairs, esp ones that involve electric or plumbing without the owners permission, in fact on some repairs or charges, he can sue you for the damages or returning things they way they were. I had a renter add a fake wall in a room, It cost me about 3000 to remove it, and they were sued and paid every penny to have to removed.

All know about the situation, "hon," is what you posted. I read the Florida Statutes, specifically Pasco Country, FL. Either you didn't understand what you read or you didn't read the Statute. Educate me. Cut and paste what you're relying on. Are you talking about adverse possession? If so, you don't qualfy there either - http://real-estate-law.freeadvice.co...ertyRental.htm.

So - go to Court, fight the eviction, demand that the landlord pay for the materials you used and assert your "squatters" rights. Then come back and let me know how it worked out, where you are planning to live next.

I assume by "living standers" you meant "living standards." Are you an electrician?
