Ejector pump pit unfinished basement - why is there water in the hole?
    Hi,
I'm buying a townhouse that has an unfinished basement that has been rough plumbed for a bathroom. It has two sump (?) holes. One dry, one with water. Why does one of them have water and the other does not? Should it have a pump?
    Thank you!

Hi Stephanie and Welcome to The Plumbing Page. At AskMeHelpDesk.com
Hard to say at this point. Could be ground water or rain water run off. I need a little more information. Is the hole with water deeper then the other? Does the water level remain the same or does it raise and fall? Talk to the neighbors and see if they have sump pumps installed. Let me know what you find out. Good luck, Tom
