Problem with ground wire - ceiling fan
I have a ceiling fan & light kit that trips the breaker when the ground wire (green) is connected to the bare wire from the ceiling.

When the black/black and red/blue are connected along with green/bare no trip. Disconnect the black/black and red/blue and connect white/white along with green/bare it trips.

Disconnect the green/bare and connect up all others and it works. The one constant is a trip of breaker with green/bare and white/white.

House was built in 2006 and I have installed 3 other ceiling fans (none on this breaker) that have worked fine for 2 years.

    Thank you.
