    Law of Attraction
    The Law of Attraction

What you focus on expands. Your thoughts, feelings, and actions will expand and return to you.

Every thought you have, is like placing an order out into the universe and it will return to you. If you truly want to change your life for the better then change your thoughts and your words. Like attracts like. Whatever you focus on will return to you.

This secret law of attraction when not understood can cause your path in life to be much bumpier than necessary. The more you understand that every thought, word and deed will create your reality then you will understand you are in control of changing your life for the better by changing your thoughts, words, and actions.

Very interesting post... I tend to think there is something to this, Teaching. I don't know if its quite as absolute as its written about here, but I can tell you that a great deal more goes on that is not usually seen or heard or noticed at all for many people. Those who see or hear or notice that stuff certainly have an advantage. Intention is something humans hide too easily from themselves and to their own misfortune too. Additionally it helps to realise how reality is co-authored by everyone. But what part of reality we each experience firsthand ourselves, we largely choose. The trouble is we don't see ourselves choosing it when we do. Its important to get good at recognising that if you choose X, that Y and Z come with it. Or sometimes to solve something, you have to be willing to give up something for it. Its just how the world works and no one is capable of bending those rules anymore than they can suspend gravity or breathe underwater unaided.

I saw this on one of the sites and thought it was something nice to share. I thought it might help us all on focusing on what we want.

    Val,

I created this little diagram to try to show how our worlds become entwined. We each live in a world of our own creation but our worlds inevitably overlap.

I believe we create our own world from the thoughts we entertain.

Thought is creative. All thought, good and bad, is creative and tends to become a material thing.

This is rather complicated. The short version is that we are learning to think more positive because our life becomes what we think about the most. And whatever our life becomes, it also effects everyone else's world and their’s ours.

    I hope that made sense.

This is true. It is like speaking kind words to yourself and others. The response is awsome. Instead of allowing bad thoughts to come into our heads and condemning ourselves, we need to speak kindness and beauty and love. When this changes our hearts towards ourselves, it cannot help but to spill out to others in love and truth and goodness. Positivity breeds positivity. We can weed our gardens of what can choke us and cultivate the best of our produce until we have so much that we need to give some out.

You bring out the flowery side of me, teach. Yeah, I have had this philosophy for a while now. It brought my husband to me, and he is the best!

Okay the story I'm about to tell is all true and now makes me wonder about what's going on here.

Last Wednesday, Thursday or Friday I was reading a book about goals and it mentioned the law of attraction. Up until then I had never heard about this in my life or if I did I never focused on it or let it sink into long term memory. Didn't think much about other than what I read. But Saturday morning when I woke up I was brushing my teeth and the thought of the law of attraction came into my head. I didn't have anything to ask for need or focus on so I just noted it in my memory but didn't give it much second thought.

On Sunday I was looking into documentaries on secret societies and I got the movie that Needkarma referenced called the secret. Mind you I got it because I thought it was about secret societies, specifically the Skull and bones secret society so I was no where close or even thinking about the law of attraction.

But I start the movie and the first couple minutes I was confused because this woman's father dies but then they start talking about the secret so I figured it was all tied in. They then have the various people talking about the secret of the law of attraction. Now mind you I had never heard of this until 2 to 4 days before last Sunday, and it had popped into my head Saturday morning to the point that I remembered it, and now I've got a movie on the law of attraction that I'm watching by accident.

So I get done with the movie and to be honest I don't know what to think. Some of it doesn't make sense but some of it does. The law of attraction basically states that if you focus on something it will happen because there are forces working to make it happen for you. Others can probably give a better definition because I still don't understand it completely. But what I found interesting to me was that with in a period of a week I heard about the law of attraction, thought about it, then had a movie about it. So in essence I used the law of attraction for the law of attraction.

So I tried it the other day when I went to Sam's Club. Now for those of you who have never been to the Lakeland, Florida Sam's Club let me encourage you not to go. The lines are ridiculesly long and I've actually complained to the store manager the time I was in there before this. The particular day I complained I had waited 25 minutes to buy frozen strawberries in one of the 4 registers opened of a possible 18. After getting an attitude problem from Chris initially I backed him right down with my thoughts. It was great too, I got Chris to admit to me that his store alone make $115 million in a year. Chris said they didn't make enough in the budget to pay other people. To which I pointed out they could pay five extra people $10.00 and hour for 10 hours and still only be out $500.00 I questioned how that really would hurt his $115 million bottom line. Anyway lets just say it was one of the few times I had someone completely defeated in a verbal argument.

In the movie they give the example of a guy that uses it to think himself a good parking spot. So before I left I said "I'm going to get a parking spot up front" I then repeated that as I drove. I get there and low and behold I get a parking spot open in the second closest spot from the front door. Although that never happens I'm still not sure about this or about what I'm really even doing but I'm pretty impressed.

But then it dawned on me that the lines here are terrible so I said I'm going to get into a line with one person in front of me. Got my milk and oddly enough find a line open with one person currently checking out and one person behind her. So I was thinking that was probably close enough considering that usuually the lines are 20 to 30 people deep.

But here's the thing, the first lady was done checking out in 45 seconds because her transaction was almost complete. The people in front of me then bought some big screen TV and they had to call security and get some kind of okay. So it still took about 10 minutes.

But I've been thinking about how to clarify this or learn more about it. I've searched some websites but they are all pay sites. What's now interesting is it's been on my mind all week. Low and behold here on the very website I spend hours at, less than 10 days after I've heard about this law and this movie we have a post about the law and the link to the movie.

Could it all be a coincidence? It could. Could it be the law of attraction, attracting me to the law of attraction? It could. I can't answer that, but I think it's interesting that all this has happened.

I don't find this all that magical or surprising. The brain ignores the majority of the stimuli it receives, otherwise you could remember what you had for lunch last Tuesday and what the waiter smelled like. If you are thinking about something, stuff that is related that would normally be ignored if you're weren't thinking about it, now gets noticed.

Compounding the... environmental ignorance, for lack of a better term, is the fact that I suspect most of us are so wrapped up in the little reality inside our heads that we fail to notice even the blatantly obvious.

Frame of reference is also important to our perceived reality. Lay down on the floor sometime. I think you'll find smells and odors more intense. Our pet's reality therefore differs a good bit from our own.

Those, Chuff, are some of the connections and patterns I often see, that I see others don't see. We make choices and decisions that are so very tiny and invisible as to appear to be "magic". I am not psychic as some of my friends claim. I simply see more of those connections, directions, patterns and outcomes than most people. I learned how to as a kid in a really desperate way in order to survive a war-zone like environment. Now it serves me well in better times.

Scleros is on to something really significant. The world experience is too big for us limited creatures and so we create filters to only let in a certain amount. Those filters are many and vary from the more obvious (like body language) to the deeply subconscious (like dreams). It is much bigger than just our thoughts, although thought very much is a part of it. If you have a certain topic-related filter clog up so that it prevents you from learning, you will stack up lots of "reminders" relevant to that particular one that will be screaming for you to clean out your filter! Most people's troubles stem from their not seeing reality as it is, but rather as they hope or fear. They trust their filters too much, and allow themselves to claim the distorted reality as real. They cultivate a subjective, rather than an objective point of view.

You apparently had a lot of different filters cleaned out and receptive to this topic, Chuff! Aren't we humans something else? LOL

This is why a small defenseless child, unaware of so much, can go into a room full of very real monsterous type adults who are all arguing and threatening with each other with destruction on the verge of breaking out and yell, STOP!! And the monsters will all stop dead in their tracks. The channels are just that open. Its why sometimes, if we are paying attention, we feel unstoppable too.

I get that a very large part of it is that it functions as a very basic affirmation that we are likable. I have watched people in the world and it seems the more a person is genuinely convinced that they are likable from a variety of sources, the more capable they are of broadening their attraction and they become attractive to all kinds. That is what politicians call chrisma. A person who really likes themselves in an appropriate way (humble, not arrogant) becomes "every man" or "every woman" and is able to affirm to all kinds of people that they are likable too, not just the ones they are exacly like. Interesting isn't it? It behooves to look at who your friends are as they are in many ways a mirror of you.

Just a tidbit I want to add, my husband knew me in jr. high. I had a terrible crush on him then and he found out.

Years later, I started to work for the Post Office, weeks before, he kept wondering about me and wanted to know what became of me. Then there I was, working at the same place as him.

I was painfully shy in his presence, as all the gals liked him. He has always been a dreamboat. For five years I could barely speak to him. Then one day I started to affirm myself. I said, "You are pretty and smart and funny and kind. You are as good as anybody here. You are worthy of love and kindness." Then I went after him and we were married in two months. Turned out, we were compatible in all areas of our lives and it took years to find this out. With the laws of attraction, things worked out. As a Christian, these are in the Bible. They are called blessings. I was blessing myself with self love.

Something else funny. A middleschool pal was making a joke in my hubby's jr. high yearbook back when signing it, and wrote "Good Luck with Cindy F******X. It was my whole maiden name. He showed it to me right before we married.

There was a lot going on where my husband was concerned.

I'm in the middle of it and I don't understand either. LOL.

The best way I can describe it is that if you put your focus on something enough and ask for something you will get it. Most people think about "why does my life suck" or "why are people always mean to me" and so that's what they get. Basically your supposed to think positive thoughts, focus on them, and then allow them to happen.

It's sort of like when you think about a song you haven't heard in a while but then 20 minutes later you hear it on the radio. Did that just happen or was there something at work that made that happen? Yes that brings the obvious question why doesn't everybody just think themselves happy or rich or famous to which I can't really answer yet. My guess is because when you start thinking differently for an extended period your brain starts putting up roadblocks.

This is where I kind of didn't get the movie or this belief, because I agree that if you stay positive about something and focus on it then it can come. But in the movie they were saying this kind of thing changes with in a month or two. If your dreaming to be the CEO of a fortune 500 company and you are currently working as a bagger at the supermarket it's not going to happen in 2 months. That's not to say it can't happen. It just can't happen in two months.

But I do agree that if you focus on something and think about it then there could be something at work outside of you that brings it to you. As Sexybeasty stated with her husband who she knew but lost contact with. Did it just happen that she showed up after he was thinking about her? It could be, or maybe something bigger was positioning them together. Other than my one little experiment, which I tried because I saw it the movie I can't say. But it sort of worked for me. I got the parking spot up front. The line was not exactly what I asked for, since I asked for 1 person but techniquely got two. I also assumed 1 person in front of me meant the line was going to be moving quick, which did not happen. But usually when I walk into Sam's Club I always get negative and think "Why do they not hire more people" and "Why are there lines always long" and I always got long lines. Last week when I tried it I got a short line but still had to wait. So there is a glitch in this whole formula because something can always come up that you don't expect.

    The Law of Attraction:

The law of attraction is more about what we attract to us through our predominant thinking process. We are apt to get that which we think about the most... Think lack and limitation and lack and limitation is what you get.

Think and worry about debts and you just get more debts.

Think about what you want and not about what you don't want.

Instead of thinking and worrying about debt, think about all the positive ways that you can take care of the debts.

Want health and happiness think about health and happness - not sickness and pain.

The law of attraction has nothing to do with like attracting like. It's all about what we attract to ourselves because of what and how we think.

    Cultivate more positive thinking.

Depending on how you choose to use it, electricity can be constructive or destructive. Used positively it can fill a room with light. Used negatively it can give you a nasty shock. Mind is creative. All thought, good and bad, is creative and tends to become a material thing. And, like the electricity, it can be constructive or destructive, depending on how you choose to use it; positively or negatively.

    Val,

"I simply see more of those connections, directions, patterns and outcomes than most people. I learned how to as a kid in a really desperate way in order to survive a war-zone like environment. Now it serves me well in better times."

Had to spread it or I would have agreed one hundred percent. I could have wrote what you wrote above. I am happy and thrilled to know that I come from the same direction as such a wonderful insightful person such as yourself.

    chuff,

The Secret is based on The Master Key
You can get it free on line.
I read it in my twenties and a few times since as a refresher course.

The law of attraction works but we mere mortals must work at it.

The Master Key is where most of my personal philosophy comes from.

"So if i concentrate and think hard enough on i will have Jessica Alba knocking on my front door at 9pm tonight?" lol

It's not about concentrating, it's more about becoming a positive thinker and learning to direct your thoughts.

    You desire something...

You have faith until you believe and you believe until you know... And if it was meant to be it will be. And if not, perhaps something better is on the way. Believe it!

Through the law of attraction we have drawn everything in our lives to us. Through relaxation and meditation we can learn to focus the mind and be more selective about what we want to have in our lives.

It’s also important to realise that we get what we think we deserve. If you are asking for something and it doesn’t seem to be working, perhaps it’s because you simply can’t imagine yourself with something so wonderful. Work on bringing smaller more obtainable things into your life until your confidence in the law of attraction becomes more of a reality.

Have faith until you believe and believe until you know.

That statement has nothing to do with religion.
I am not a religious person.

The Law Of Attraction was a secret.
A secret even the church spent hundreds of years trying to conceal from the peasants.

Well we are no longer peasants, and we have the secret!

It is a secret no longer! It is a real ability that we all have! It is not magic or witchcraft! It doesn’t happen over night, and it must be worked at!

I read the Master Key in my twenties and have been working on and using it ever since. My journey is endless, and I have all the time in the world.

I am not rich, perhaps this is because of my 'Nun Mentality' (one of everything is sufficient). I chose to live a simple life.

My soldier ex-hubby was injured in Northern Ireland twice during the troubles in the 70s. He received thousands and thousands of pounds in compensation - Twice!

We have had money and we have been without money. We owned a four bedroom house, cars etc. We sent our children to boarding school. And as daft as it sounds, I was never comfortable with wealth. Perhaps because I didn't earn it and therefore felt I didn't deserve it. Who knows.

I talk to people about positive thinking and the law of attraction, and I am left feeling like a Psychic who has been in a car accident, "Didn't you 'see' it coming?" lol

People will ask me, "How come, if you believe in all that stuff, you're not rich?"

    Well I think that's why - because I don't want it, I don't feel I deserve it.

That may seem like a rather lame excuse for this positive thinker - believer in the law of attraction - not being a rich woman but it is the only one I have.
