What are the laws about the type of bed children should be sleeping in regularly?

I've never heard of any laws governing what type of bed a child should use. What makes you think there are some? And what prompted the question?

If you are in the U.S. the Consumer Product Safety Commission does regulate the design, construction and marketing of such things as beds, and especially those made for children.
