How to send backup datafrom a mac to a san server
A Readynas device will take will perform data backups periodically and then send this to a Mac computer…

My question is how do I then send this data periodically to a remote SAN server? Is there an application that will do this for me on A MAC computer??

    Need help ASAP

Why are you sending this backup information FROM a NAS to a MAC?
Surely it would make more sense to go directly to the SAN solution.

That's what I though but can't apparently according to netgear because the san serever is not using the Rsync software and cannot be installed on to the server either...

Would love to be able to configure the readyNas devcie to auto send backups to to the san

But at this stage look as if I may need the other PC to do that for me

You can simply send the data from the NAS to the SAN, you don't need to use rsync, although it would make the job simpler.
Have a look in the backup jobs on the readynas.

In fact why move the data at all..

Will do was advised that this would render it as a manual process but it has to be automated...

Moving the data so there is an offsite back up...

I use a ReadyNAS in my backup routine and the inbuilt systems work like a dream, and even send e-mail notices when it's been done..

Are you moving the data offsite?

I use rsync to another NAS box on a different site, but you do have the option for a simple data transfer.
Have a look at the backup options.

    All automagic ;)
Bit of setup, but once done simply check the e-mails daily to make sure it's done.
