The story revolves around a girl who was in love with a football player (not sure) but the guy was popular in school. She was not popular in school and was described as simple and chubby in the story.
The guy loves another girl, the pretty cheerleader (I think) but the she dumped him. Out of frustration, he dated her and asked to marry her. She soon found out that he only did that because the girl he likes dumped him.
She was heartbroken because she loves this guy very much, so she left and worked in a city far away.
When her grandmother died 10 years after, she was summoned by the attorney to come back to her hometown to inherit the will. She met her old friends and eventually the guy who happened to fall for her this time around.

*I've been looking for this novel for years now but still no luck. It's a great love story, I read it over and over again.*
