I currently have a drivers license from New York state where I used to live, I worked there for 9 months and moved to Ohio, and started a job. I live in Ohio, but still maintain a NY drivers license. Do I have to pay taxes to NY on the money I made in Ohio? Thanks

The title of this post is "Resident of one state but working in another," and then you describe a situation where you live and work in Ohio. So the question you must answer is: what state are you a resident of? I will assume that you actually moved to Ohio and no longer consider yuorself a New Yorker - post back if I have that wrong. As a resident of Ohio who works in Ohio, NY has no claim on any of your income. So no - you do not need to pay NY income tax on your OH income. However, I would recommend that you trade in the NY drivers license for a OH one (as well as registering your car in OH if you haven't already done so). Not only does this help prove residency but also OH requires you to do this within 30 days of moving into state.
