I am 16 years old and recently got married to my husband who doesn't have papers, can I start to fix his papers right now or do I have to wait till I am 18?

First... what country are we talking about? For the sake of this answer I am assuming the USA...

Really... where did you think you could do that at all... and incidentally... at 16 you legally can't do anything...

If he's here illegally... you can't "Fix" anything... he has to return to his home country and apply from there... if he gets deported before then.. he has to wait at least 10 years before he can reapply.

Getting married to you isn't an instant green card for him... far from it... it doesn't even guarantee that he can or will even get one.

My wife was NEVER illegal... it still took me several years and thousands of dollars... and still only got it via connections... or it would have been even more years and more thousands of dollars.

If you think its going to be easy.. quick or cheap... you are in for one hell of a shock.

If you are in the US, he can not just get citizenship or legal visa by just marry you. In most places at 16 your parents had to sign for you to get married.

But he can hire a immigration attorney and apply for a visa, but it is very likely he will have to return to his own country ( so get your passport so you can go with him) and wait there to be approved.
