    Appyling for german ancestry citizenship
    Hi There,

Both my Grandfather and Grandmother were both Germans who immigrated to South Africa, in the early 1900. My father was born in 1925 in South Africa. Is it possible that I can apply for citazinship - I was born in South Africa in 1968.

Highly unlikely... few countries continue to practice such old policies due to too many people exploiting them over recent years.

I would contact the German Embassy in South Africa and ask them.

Right of ascendency from your grandparents does not get you a German passport. Your mother or father would have had to be born In Germany for you to get a german Passport.
