Ok tonight my good friend had a issue with her soon to be ex husband and the cops got called,she asked them to be with her while she got her things together to leave for the night. The officer asked her where she was going and she told the officer my house and the officer started saying I was a bad influence and that he can not believe she would go to my house! He told her that him and I went to school together and that if she knows any thing about me to tell him! I am completely lost on why this officer was talking such crap about me.. What can I do to stop him from slandering my name?This is a very small town and I have three children..

Other than your friend's testimony what proof do you have he said this? Also I don't see any specific accusations other than his OPINION that you are a bad influence.

To successfully sue him you would have to prove that you suffered damages.

I would go talk to the chief of police and file a complaint.

If anyone could sue for slander, it should be the school (Except, of course, if you and the officer did go to school together, truth would be a defense). If I were your English teacher, I would be embarrassed by reading that sentence.
