    Fan is not working
    Hi
    My a/c fan motor is not working,it's hot and when I turn thermostat on it clicks but won't turn fan

    Let the motor assembly cool off then try to run it again. If it will not spin try to spin the motor by the use of a small stick (do not use fingers in case it starts). If it starts to run it is probably the motor capacitor if not then the motor will need to be replaced.

    I Letit cool last night and try to turn on again But it makes a little click sound like to turn on.but did not work try to spin the fan still nothing.
    I replaced capacitor and motor last time about 4 yrs ago
    Since then works fine.
    Suddenly it happens yesterday

    I just open the fan part and try to spin by hand the fan started OK
    So looks like fan motor is gone

    As hvac1000 mentioned, if giving the fan a push start makes it run, it may be as simple as a bad capacitor. I would start there, and if still have the same issure, a new motor it is.

    I just switched capacitor from my other unit .fan started working fine. So definitely it needs capacitor .thanks your help

    That's great news. Caps are usually pretty cheap and easy to replace, lot cheaper than a motor. Just make sure to get one with the same ratings, and you will be up and running. Good job, thanks for the update, take care.
