How close to the property line can you plant trees?

Do you care if the canopy overlaps the neighbor's property, which gives the neighbor the right to maintain any part of the tree which overlaps?

I don't find anything about trees and property lines.

Since trees grow, you need to leave room for the growth. It also depends on the type of tree and rate of growth. I would check with the local zoning board or building dept as such rules are probably very local.
