    Dog training- shock collars
    Hi,

I rescued a dog we'll call Fred a year ago and already have another rescue. Fred is almost 2 and my other dog is about 9.

Fred has... issues. We went through a very good training at anti cruelty, but I'm still having problems with his incessant barking and leash aggression. He is lunging at people and barks at children. It's embarrassing and I dread going on walks because we have to avoid all other dogs and sometimes people.

I'm seriously considering a shock collar. I feel like this is a desperate measure, but I'm not sure what else to try.

Has anyone used one? Any advice? I found some good dog bootcamps, but they are out of my budget.

    Please help!

Also, he is a 25 lb min pin mixed with some type of terrier. Tall and skinny...

A shock collar is a tool. Like any tool it can be used wisely , or abused. I really wouldn't recommend using one unless you're a licensed dog trainer. It's way to easy for the average person to use it incorrectly and cause more harm than good.

    A few questions.

    Is he fixed?

    How often is he walked?
