    Not an atty but have own experience. It is worth getting an experienced attorney. In my state if that father is part of your sons life, they will do a calculation and you will have to support the father. What state are you in?

    No, There is a myth that a parent can just sign over their rights, its only a myth. Only a court can terminate parental rights and no court will do so to let a parent out of paying support.

    Have you gone to court for support?
