Where to put the drain for a double shower?
    Hello

We are building a 2m x 1m double shower and want to put a stainless steel channel drain in one end. I am concerned about the gradient from the other end of the shower to make sure the water runs off but it doesn't feel like I am showring on a hill!

Everything I have read for tiled shower bases talk about a 1-2 percent gradient. Does anyone have any idea what the gradient should be for this size shower?

    Any advice greatly appreciated

Hi Amanda and Welcome to The Plumbing Page. At AskMeHelpDesk.com.
Even a slight slope would be enough. 1/8" to the foot comes to mind. Will you be tiling this yourself or will you contract it out? Good luck, Tom

    Wow Tom you are quick!

Do you think that will be OK if the two showers are used at the same time? I am thinking of an 80cm channel to ake sure its man enough for the job.

A tiler will be doing the tiling.

Your 80 cm. channel derain connected to a 2"
    Drain line should be plenty.

The drainage is good. Let's talk about the water volume if two showers are running at the same time. What material are the water pipes" What size main will be supplying the two shower valves and will you be using separate 1/2" branches to the valves? Back to you, Tom
