Vertical or horizontal?

It could be a logic buffer if vertical, or a y-buffer if horizontal. It could also be the screen itself. If under warranty call the retailer or manufacturer to see what they can and will do for you. If not under warranty, it might be worth fixing because the logic buffers and y-buffers are fairly inexpensive.
