As far as I am aware, testing for pregnancy from a blood sample can only be done under a doctor's orders. Home pregnancy Tests (HPTs) use a urine sample.

Therefore, you should see your doctor to ask about when to take such a test. The advantage to a blood test is that it can, more accurately than a urine test, detect pregnancy sooner.
