In the process of remodeling my home I replaced outlets because they were all different colors. Now all outlets work but, it caused one of my lights to not be able to turn off. What happened?
There was probably one of the receptacles that was switched with the light. At least half the receptacle probably was.
In replacing the receptacle you did not break the tab between the two gold screws, thereby causing the switched part to be hot all the time.
Did any of the receptacles you replaced have a red wire and a black wire on it by any chance?
Look at your old receptacles. 1 of them mort likely had s broken off tab on the hot side. Need to find new outlet. Was an outlet switched before?
