    Boat house utilities
I rent a house boat from this guy who owns the houseboat and he is supposed to be responsible for paying the marina for the slip, and electricity. Well he was very unreliable when it came to doing that, so we would have the marina owner at our place telling us that we need to pay this huge past due account or be kicked out. So we made an agreement that we would just pay our rent and power to the marina. That way our money would go where it should. Now the landlord has been living in the other side of the duplex with his girlfriend. Well there is only one power meter and he tried telling us that we are responsible for the entire power bill. He says that it states it in the rental agreement. Is that at all proper?

grantlauri, you need a lawyer, not an electrician.

You had an agreement, then you and he changed it, the current agreement is you pay the electric ** I assume that lowered the rent by the electric amount ?

So time to go back to landlord and make a new deal or move out.
