    Second Offense Shoplifting
Hi my name is Tracey I got caught shoplifting when I was 17 but it was expunged but I just got caught again I'm 19 now I was not arrested but I got a ticket and I must appear in court. I wanted to know what will happen when I appear in court and is there any way I could pay this off and learn from my lesson

No... you have to go to court... you should have learned you lesson the first time...

What happens depends on what you stole.. how you behaved when they caught you.. how the store you stole from pushes this... and the mood the judge is in.

First a ticket is a summons and while you were not handcuffed and taken to the station, there is no real difference from the legal sense.

Next while your last court was "sealed" or "explunged" the record is still there for the court to see, so you will not get a first offender deal again.

You will most likely get a fine, and probation.

Next they know you will not learn from your lesson, since you did not learn it the first time. They will actually assume you have done it the last two years and just got caught again.
