Should I go to her birthday party?
My female friend who I've been into for the past few months randomly one night texts me (at 2am on a weekday) saying "I have a boyfriend now" I know her well enough to know she's lying (also has done this in the past and admitted she lied when I began talking to other girls). She won't tell me anything about the guy and doesn't want to talk to be due to her new boyfriend (I'll will also admit that this has been bugging me the past few weeks). Now her best and closest friends (all females) invited me to her surprise birthday party this weekend. They also invited me to go dancing (to the club) with them after the party. I know some of her friends seem to be pushing us to get together (probably because she's the only single one out of the group) and seem to like me; however, this also leads me to believe that her boyfriend once again is fake (or is a bum).

Sounds like she's trying to make you feel jealous. Go to her party anyway, have a good time. Just by saying she has a boyfriend doesn't mean she doesn't want to see you, maybe just not get caught texting you. If she ends up telling you at the party it's a lie, who cares. Other than that, don't let that bother you, if she's your friend, go to the party.

She doesn't seem to be as into you, as you are her, and I am always suspicious of what good intentioned friends will do. I think I would ask her about this before this party, and before I decided to go.

Why play games when honesty gets you to the point?
