98 Honda Accord EX 2.4L won't start gets fuel and spark
Some background information: 1998 Honda Accord 2dr ex 2.4l sohc vtec automatic. The car ran perfectly but then some times it would not turn over, after many tries it would start the run normal. I ordered a new starter and let it sit for a few days. Before I received the starter I tried starting it after many tries I got it to turn over but for some reason it would not start. When I got the starter I replaced it but I forgot to unhook the battery, and accidentally arced the starter power then I unhooked the battery and continued. Once installed I went to start it and it cranks over perfectly every time but does not start.

Symptoms: when cranking it over it kind of backfires like it is off timed but I checked timing and it is good.

One time the immobilizer key symbol flashed while trying to start it but has not done it again.

All four red door open indicators are lit when key is on and flashes when I try to start it.

Check engine light is not on.

    THINGS I HAVE TRIED/ CHECKED
pulled every plug out and had my girlfriend turn it over and I saw spark come from every plug.

I loosened the banjo bolt on the fuel rail and when I cranked it over fuel sprayed out with noticeable pressure.

I checked every single fuse in the car inside and under hood, I tested the main relay with a multi-meter while providing it powered and it tested good, you can hear it click as well as the fuel pump hum.

I tried charging the battery and jumping the battery with another car and still did not start.

I think it might be something to do with the immobilizer and unhooking the battery. Please if any one could help it will be greatly appreciated.

It's likely the immobilizer system thinks the car was trying to be stolen and has shut things down. Call your local Honda dealer and they should be able to help you.

So I called Honda and talked to them and they said its not the immobilizer. Based on the symptoms and what I told them. I replaced the spark plugs because they were fouled. I have no idea where I should look next. Please any one got ideas?

I know you said you checked all fuses. Go back and double-checked them by testing all under hood and under dash fuses with a test light or multimeter. Visual inspection is often not good enough.

Does the Check Engine Light come on for 2 seconds and then go out, when the ignition switch is turned to ON (Position II)? If it does, focus on the distributor. Usually, replacing the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil inside the distributor solves the problem. Be sure to apply silicone heat transfer grease to the back of the new ICM.

If the problem persists, have the alternator tested.

Yes it comes on then off, after two seconds, if it was the icm, then wouldn't it not get spark? Also would it throw a cel?
