Could his bad habits cause my respiratory infection?
I haven't seen this addressed anywhere and need some help! I haven't had two colds in 10 years; I'm just not one to get sick.
However, since moving my F-I-L with mid-term Alzheimers in with us 5 months ago, I have had TWO upper respiratory infections! Right now all that is gone is his memory, he is still able to function in his little area of bedroom/sitting room/bath but I still do all of his cleaning, laundry, cooking. His personal habits aren't as sanitary as I would like but I have problems getting him to even use soap to wash his hands and bathe/change clothes.
I wear gloves and mask when cleaning his room; clean the house thoroughly (often) and use Lysol on doorknobs, faucets etc.
MY QUESTION: Could my respiratory infections be a result of this and how to I immediately make changes in his hygiene?
