    Repair toilet drain pipe
Hi - Wonder if anyone can gelp - while doing a bit of gardening, I managed to damage a plastic drain pipe that is located approx. 12 inches below ground level - This pipe comes from the toilet and goes connects to a manhole. Can I repair the damaged pipe without having to dig up the garden and replace the pipe? Any answers would be appreciated. Neil

Sorry - This is a sewage pipe. The property is not very old, built in 1988

The correct way to do it would be to dig up the broken portion, cut it out and replace with new. The good news is its only a foot deep. Should make for a pretty easy repair job. Good luck and please let us know how things work out.

Replace the damaged PVC pipe using a PVC coupling and a shielded metal coupling. Good luck, Tom
