He jumps up on everyone! And with 3 elderly parents around we are concerned he will knock them over. Plus he scratches all the CAR doors and gets our clothes dirty just as we head off to work! It is the jumping up on everything that we cannot stop him from doing. Please help!

Enroll your dog in obedience class and teach him the word "no" and "off".

When he jumps on you, turn your back to him and walk away.

When your dog is around the older people in your home, have him on a leash and correct him. Make him sit for a treat and have the other people try to pet him. If he is still out of control and jumpy, remove him from the situation. Until you can get him under control, for the dogs sake and the older people's sake, removing him from the situation is the best solution. When he is allowed around everyone again, turn it into a training lesson. He must sit for everything. Teach him stay.

Everything you are having problems with can be fixed with a trip to an obedience class. The key to success is finishing the 6 or 8wk course and continuing his training with yearly courses.

No you certainly cannot have him doing this, too dangerous. Have you had him for the entire 2 years?

You have a handful and we will try to help, but first of all, suggest you hire a dog trainer, or take him to a training school where you go along with him and learn as well.
