How to discourage step parent adoption
I have been co-parenting my grandson since he was born and he has lived with me at least 60% of the time. My daughter age 42 has been married to a man age 33 for a year now. My grandson has asbergers syndrome too. My daughter suddenly decided my grandson is none of my business since he has a daddy now and is cutting me off from contact. I am terrified his stepdad will adopt him. I don't know if I have any rights as a grandparent, but would like to slow this down if possible. This man spanks my grandson really hard and said he talks real mean to him before spanking him. Marriage does not necessarily qualify the step parent for the difficult job of parenting. I really need some advice on this adoption.

ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

Some areas do have laws on grandparent rights. If you were a significant part of your grandchild's life and formed a significant bond, you may be able to enforce visitation. But it is not easy.
