Hi. I am a contractor and I am required to pay an estimate of my taxes on a quarterly basis.
This is my job story since January 2012:
Jan-1/Apr-10 employee in an hospital in MA
Apr-10-present contractor in DC
I am a foreigner (with a research scholar j1 visa) and so far I did not have big problems in filling my taxes because I was under treaty for two years.
I have just changed job and my treaty has just expired, so now I don't know who I can ask for some help.
Do you know which forms I am supposed to file on June 15th?
Do I have to pay also DC state taxes?
Do you think I should ask an expert in DC to help me or a tax software is enough?
How can I find a reliable expert in DC and how much does it cost his assistance?
