    Transplanting Douglas Fir tree
Hello I need to transplant 2 douglas fir trees from the back yard to the front. They are 6 feet tall and 10 years old. Can I do it myself? And How do I do it?

We have moved 3 year old trees from the front yard to back and unfortunately they died, the roots were too establised and the nursery said "we shocked the tree by transpanting". I don't know if it's worth losing them, otherwise, purchase 2 new one and they will grow as wonderful as the one's you now have.

Sounds like two well established trees, and fir trees don't transplant that easily. I wouldn't attempt it, two big and you don't have nursery equipment. Why do you have to move them?
