Ive told my boyfriend to leave and he has no where to go so he's not leaving, at least not soon enough for me. He's been here well over a year. What do I need to do and how long?

Ha ha probably not what I need right now. Just want to cover my butt and do it the right way, legally. From what Ive read I need to fill out notice to vacate, is that true?
