Our well was working all day until about an hour ago we had no water and the pump is not running?

Two possibilities Dry Well and the pump has shut down or the pump has failed, this can happen for a number of reasons call up your local contractor

1. Check your breaker. Is it on?
2. If the breaker is on, then look for the pressure switch. It is a little grey box with electrical wiring coming from it. Remove the grey cover and look at the contact points. Are the closed (touching)? If they are, then your pump should be running.
3. Is your pump above ground or in the well?

Don't call a contractor. If you feel the need for help, call a well specialist or a plumber familiar with working with wells.
