Do I need to lose weight please help I feel depressed about my weight :(
Hey there Ali,
Its not something you should truly worry about, you are according to a British Body Mass Indicator a little big, but DON'T WORRY your still very young, it may be what we call PUPPY FAT over here, I had it when I was your age and was much heavier than you are and you grow out of it. It may seem like it is hard to deal with now but you will soon shed the pounds. Its quite normal these days to be hefty at a young age but YOU WILL GROW OUT OF IT. Just try to eat a little healthier and all should be OK.
Hope this helps, if you need anymore info I'm more than happy to help
Andy :)
The idea weight for 5"5" for a women is 136 pounds, so no you are not fat at all. Most likely because you are 13 you have not matured enough physically, in a few years it will all balance out.

I weight more than that when I was your age, like 5'5 and 168 lbs, but when I grow up, I start to taking pills to loose fat, I used 4 months to do that, was hard.. And now I weight 143, 5'6.. I am Asian, and I am 18 now, try your best to eat less, so you won't have to go my way to be on diet..
Good luck !

I'm 13, 5'5 and weigh 140 pounds,
I'm not overweight but at risk so if anybody has tips or a easy diet or anything, please answer :)
That was pretty much my height and weight at 13. Unfortunately there are no easy diets that really work long-term. The best thing to do is keep track of what you eat (if you're not sure how much you should be eating for your size/age, ask your doctor or school nurse), try to eat healthy, and get regular exercise. Here are a few other tips:
1) Try not to snack. It's easy to start snacking and not realize how much you're really eating. Eat enough healthy food at mealtimes to keep you full between meals. If you do snack, make sure you know how much you're eating (e.g. don't sit down in front of the t.v. with a big bag of chips/pretzels/etc.).
2) Eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. This has tons of benefits for you, one of which is that it fills you up without adding a single pound! Fruit makes great snacks if you must snack, and having a small salad before a meal can help you naturally eat less since you aren't starving when you start on the main food.
3) Find some exercise that you actually like to do. I hated running but loved riding my bike. Make a point to do it for at least half an hour a few times a week. This also helps keep your brain sharp in addition to keeping your body healthy.
4) Mainly: don't worry about it too much! You're 13, which is an age when most people stress a lot about their bodies, but don't! If you're healthy and active, the rest of it really doesn't matter!
I have asked many questions on how to lose weight, I'm finding it really hard.
I'm 13, 136 pounds and 5'5 I really just want to drop a bit maybe to 130?
I need a good diet that really works. I play a lot of sports and that is not really helping.
Try stepping away from the TV and your computer games and exercise outside.
That's usually ALL it takes if you aren't stuffing your face every day with junk food.
