    My landlord gave me a 3 day notice to quit. He gave it to me just shy two weeks before I was gonnna put in my 30 day notice..

    You still owe him that money or he's going to drag you to court to get it... that's why you got a 3 day pay or quit (Failure to pay the rent). Moving isn't going to get you off the hook.

    Yes. If the landlord sues you for eviction and somehow the court decides that eviction won't be ordered, you will have needed to give him notice before you can move out without liabliity (assuming a tenancy at will).

    As long as you pay him all the money owed in the pay or quit, you are free to give notice.

    Why did he give a pay or quit? Why are you moving? Is it because you can't afford the place?

    If you don't pay within 3 days the LL will file for an eviction and you mght not get the time to move.
