My ex will not let me go to the scans or know anything about my unborn child!!
This is a difficult one but I need some help and have nowhere else to go!!
Basically my now ex girlfriend is pregnant (4months gone) we split up a month ago, and all of a sudden she won't let me know anything about the baby i.e. (is it a boy/girl, is s/he healthy etc) she won't even let me go to the scans (WHY you may ask IVE BEEN ASKING THAT FOR A MONTH AND A BIT NOW) she gave me no reason for the break-up and just ceased contact entirely. I don't know what I have done to deserve this, and if one more person says its hormones I will go nuts, even with hormones that's just EXTREME. I must be the only 21 year old who actually wants to be a proper dad even though we have split up, however my father left when I was 18 months old and know you need that father figure in your life. She told me I have no input into the baby's first name and she is going to called it her step fathers name. Surely I must have some sort of legal right, if I'm going to be paying CSA and have custody I want the little one to at the minimum have my last name.
PLEASE PLEASE Help I have exhausted all other options and writing on these (forums if you will, seem to be the last resort).
Do I actually have any legal rights or is it only when the child is born that my rights in essence kick-in?
