    Child support mass bank levy
I reside in mass and my accounts were levied. Both savings and checking were levied. Checking was subsequently returned with a $2500.00 limit. I am not clear if this is a one time thing or can I continue to run my monthly bills out of this account? Am I allowed a cumilitave total of $2500 or a maximum at any given time? Thank you for the help

Unlike wage garnishments, bank account levies are usually one shot things. They get what's in the account at the moment of levy. But, of course, there is nothing to stop them from doing another levy next week, so I wouldn't continue to use those accounts.

I don't quite understand what you mean by the $2,500 limit. Is this some sort of exemption provided by Massachusetts law?

Do you owe for back child support? (arrears) Or was this some kind of mistake?
