We have no family doctor, do you just go to the ER?
My boyfriend woke up @ 3am Friday morning feeling constipated, went to sleep again. Then while at work the pain came back and it was very painful above naval, he could not get comfortable while laying in bed. Around noon, he took some constipation medication which didn't help tntil 3-5 hrs later. He has had a bowel movement which is mostly diarrhea. All he has been doing since 5pm Friday evening is sleep. Now that its morning pain is there but not unpleasant, he has about a hand full of symptoms of appendicitis, but want to go to acute care. Would it be okay for him to go to the ER since he doesn't have a regular doctor?

Does he have medical coverage? Yes he can go to the ER but it would be more expensive. Many areas are getting walk in clinics for those without a regular physician, you should contact his insurance carrier for recommendations.

Absolutely, or a urgent care in your area.

    Okay thanks.
Yes, he does have medical coverage.
The thing we're worried about is if he goes to an acute care, and they tell him that he needs surgery. Are they going to make him take an ambulance to the hospital?
