    I was in a 3 car accident a driver ran a red light and his car got hit by anothers car and that car hit me can I sue both policy holders insurance companies

    You can try but legally only the party that caused the accident is liable for damages in most if not all states (I.E. the one who ran the red light)... so it would be a waste of time going after both. And you aren't entitled to double collect in any case.

    You may sue the driver who was found liable for the accident. If both drivers were doing something "illegal" But if the one driver was merely driving and someone ran a red light, how could they be at fault.

    In that same line of thinking, the driver who got hit by the person who ran the red light, could then sue you, because your car hit his after the other driver hit him.

    Normally you case against a non at fault driver will be thrown out and you could actually be sued for attorney costs and have to pay the not at fault drivers attorneys for fighting you on this.
