My fiancé and I are sexually active and have sex on a regular basis. My period is a 28 day cycle and is exact every month, it's also really heavy and lasts for about 4 to 5 days. I ovulated at the end of April and in May I felt like I started having some pregnancy symptoms and took a test before I got my period and it came back negative, I was disappointed and it seems those symptoms have slacked off a little except my breasts are very sore and tender and swollen. I've also had lower abdominal cramps and lower back cramps. I started my period on the day I was supposed to on May the 12th. I started closer to that night and it was a lot lighter than usual. I bled a little the next day that was a dark red/brownish color then I quit. And today the only bleeding I have is when I go to the bathroom and wipe I have a small amout on the toilet paper and it's a light pinkish color. What could this mean?

Unless you take and keep and keep a Basil temp chart religiously.. you don't know when you ovulate. You only think you do.

So, what could all this mean?

It could be due to pregnancy, but you would need to wait about another week to test. When you tested before your expected period it was likely too soon. Tests tend to be more accurate after a period has already been missed.

It could be just an off period this month. Wait another week and see what happens. If you still feel pregnancy is a possibility, try a test making sure that you follow the directions carefully.
